Cause of Danube River basin pollution remains unknown
BELGRADE - The International Committee for the Protection of the Danube River (ICRDR) and the Croatian National Danube Basin Accident Prevention Centre has still not to sent any response regarding the pollution of the Sava River with
atrazine, first registered on Dec 13, the Yugoslav National Expert Group for Danube Basin Accident Prevention announced on Monday.
The Group, which operates within ICPDR, said it would insist on determining the responsibility of those who caused the rise in the levels of
atrazine, a substance used for crop spraying, in the surface and sub-terrain waters of the Sava and the drinking water supplies in the Sava River Basin.
