President 'Because Of The Circumstances'
Belgrade - The president of Serbian Assembly Natasa Micic stated to New York weekly ‘Time’ that she would perform the duty of the Serbian president ‘because of the circumstances’ but that she was completely ready to take over the highest position in the republic.
‘That is a job for newly elected president and I was not elected to be the president. I only see it as a temporary solution – until new elections or until the new president is appointed by the parliament, for as long as it takes’, said Micic. To a notice of the journalist that the process could take months, even years, Micic said she would still focus on her basic job, having in mind that Serbia has parliamentary, not presidential system. ‘I hope that the situation of all power concentrated in hands of one person, as it was in Milosevic’s era, will never happen again’, she emphasized.
