Montenegrin trade protection bars EU integration: Djelic
PODGORICA – Serbia’s finance minister Bozidar Djelic warned today that Montenegro’s customs regime would prevent entry to the European Union.
He told media that the foreign trade deficit in Serbia and Montenegro must be brought into balance with the region.
“In Montenegro they’re forgetting that, with this kind of protective customs measures, they can’t even dream about entry into the EU,” sid Djelic.
The best solution, said Serbia’s finance minister, would be to align the economic relations of both states which could then together compete for trade in the region.
