New protests announced in Belgrade
BELGRADE - Serbian construction workers’ labor union has decided to stage a number of protest rallies over the Serbian Government’s attitude towards this union in the privatization process.
Union representatives have announced a protest march for today, from the Serbian Parliament to the Serbian Government building.
This protest march will only be a warning to the authorities that the protests will radically escalate if the union’s demands are not met.
The Textile Industry union will also join the protests.
The construction workers’ union has requested to take active part in the privatization process and in the drafting of social programs.
It has also voiced its dissatisfaction over the fact that it had not been invited to take part in drafting and adopting Serbia’s budget.
