Production of Kragujevac fire-arms factory below plan
KRAGUJEVAC - This year's production of the Zastava fire-arms factory and its exports are at the level of last year, or somewhat below planned, said on Tuesday in Kragujevac Djordje Nestorovic, director of the factory.
We were ambitious in our plans, but some propositions have not been realized, first and foremost the opening up of the US market. We counted on the continuation of last
year's trend, when we realized a 20 pct increase of production and 43 pct increase of exports, but that has not happened, he explained. The US market is not closed but a 65 pct customs duty is limiting the sale of Serbian products there. Nestorovic said that last year exports brought 17.3 million D marks, while this year exports will bring 10 million euros.
