Montenegro acquires airports
PODGORICA – Yugoslavia’s national air carrier JAT today handed over its airports at Tivat and Montenegro to the Montenegrin Government.
An agreement signed in Belgrade today gives Montenegro the airports for a payment of ten million euros, which includes Montenegro Airlines’ debt for the use of JAT’s airports.
The deal was signed in Belgrade today by Deputy Montenegrin Prime Minister Branimir Gvozdenovic and Serbian Transport Minister Marija Raseta Vukosavljevic.
Gvozdenovic told media that the agreement would make it possible to begin
modernizing the airports and bringing them up to European standards.
