Results and plans in area of privatization
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Economy and Privatization Aleksandar Vlahovic said on Tuesday that plans by the end of 2003 cover auction privatization of 1,500 small and medium-sized companies, completion of tender procedures for 74 major companies, and the restructuring of 20 big systems (of the 40 begun this year), and sales of minority shares of the Action Fund (AF) portfolio for some 400 firms.
Speaking at a press conference at the Serbian government headquarters, Vlahovic announced a new strategy in sales of successful firms through the method of so-called initial public offer, which enables joint sales of AF minority shares, workers' shares, as well as additional capitalization of firms through issue of new stock.
