First privatization in Cacak
CACAK – Chemical manufacturer PKS Lateks has become the first company in the industrial city of Cacak in central Serbia to be privatized under tender proceedings.
The company manufactures paints and insulation materials.
Lateks director Bratislav Andjelic announced today that the company’s new owner is the German chemicals manufacturer HCL, from Frankfurt, owned by Bozidar Lakicevic.
The company was the only bidder for Lateks.
Andjelic told media that more than sixty companies in Europe had been approached by the Privatization Agency seeking offers for the sale of Lateks, but that none had shown interest because the local market could absorb no more than thirty per cent of the company’s production capacity.
He added that major companies were only interested in local firms when significant demand existed in the market.
