First taxes, then salaries after Jan 6
BELGRADE - Serbian Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic on Friday appealed to businessmen to step up opening of giro accounts, and said every legal entity will have to pay taxes before giving salaries to their employees as of January 2003.
"By Jan 6, everyone must open accounts in banks," Djelic said at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. He pointed out that failure to settle taxes before payment of salaries will result in high fines and even prison sentences, as this will be a crime.
