Government negotiates with health workers
BELGRADE – Negotiations began earlier this evening between two unions representing health workers and the Serbian Government.
Union representatives have been on a hunger strike for the past 24 hours in protest at the refusal of Health Minister Tomica Milosavljevic to meet them yesterday.
Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic said today that health workers could expect salary rises slightly higher than the inflation rate next year, but that the budget could not support the seven per cent pay rise demanded by one of the unions.
