State will finance severance compensation for excess labor, Serbian privatization minister
BELGRADE - Serbian Privatization Minister Aleksandar Vlahovic has said that the state would assume the obligation to finance severance compensation for technological or economic excess workers in companies to avoid blocking domestic and
foreign investors and to render major tender privatization successful.
Underscoring that this is a priority of the Privatization Agency in 2003, Vlahovic told Sunday's issue of Belgrade daily Politika that the timetable according to which new owners will lay off workers, would be shortened from three years to a year.
