Vote against budget chance to topple government: Pelevic
BELGRADE – Party of Serbian Unity leader Borislav Pelevic said today that voting against the adoption of Serbia’s budget for 2003 in the Parliament could lead to the toppling of the Serbian Government.
Deputies of the opposition, the Democratic Party of Serbia, the Democratic Centre, the New Serbia and the Democratic Alternative hold 136 seats in the Serbian Parliament which is enough to prevent adoption of the budget.
Pelevic said "everything is now up to the Democratic Party of Serbia" and that this party and its leader Vojislav Kostunica would take all responsibility for "Government’s survival".
