Budget for 2001 was responsibly spent - Serbian finance minister
BELGRADE - The Serbian parliament late on Tuesday opened a debate on the 2001 budgetary report, including a budgetary inspection report for this period, and Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic said that under the government proposal, the Serbian parliament should elect an independent auditor, who would submit a special opinion on the budgetary expenditure in 2001 to parliament.
Djelic said that the 2001 budget had been spent in a responsible way, by meeting the most important needs and without money printing, and added that he was glad he was addressing parliament since the government had nothing to hide.
