Serbian government offers compromise to avert strike of power industry workers
Belgrade - The Serbian government has agreed to the text of a special collective agreement for the Serbian Electrical Power Industry (EPS), which will be signed as soon as the main committee of the EPS trade unions cancels the general strike announced earlier, the Serbian Ministry of Mining and Energy said tonight.
"With this (acceptance of the text of the special collective agreement) EPS is getting a good agreement, which creates preconditions for exempting the company in the shortest possible time from the decree on earnings in public enterprises, and also allows, for the first time in 50 years, to calculate salaries on the basis of clearly defined value of work," a statement informs.
