Legal experts claims - Micic can/not/ be the President
Belgrade - President of the Constitutional Court of Serbia Slobodan Vucetic said yesterday that republican Constitution does not stipulate precisely what happens when the old president's mandate expires and the new president has not been elected.
The mandate of the present Serbian President Milan Milutinovic expires on January 5.
'In a case as this, Parliament Speaker undertakes the presidential post. Acting president will act in that capacity only for necessary protocol and similar occasions, for example taking part in the session of the Supreme Council of Defense', Vucetic said.
