Djelic splits with G17 to follow a “higher cause”
BELGRADE – Serbian Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic today said that he would not be joining G17 Plus when it debuts as a political party this month because its “purely liberal political platform,” was not his political option.
“It’s a personal decision. I think it’s fair for me to leave the government the way I entered it. And finally, if we look at political principles, I think I have another option. It’s called the Djelic Option,” said Djelic.
He added that he remained on friendly terms with G17 Plus leaders Mladjan Dinkic and Miroljub Labus and would resume “the right fight” with them, but not within the same party.
