Over one billion DEM embezzled from Serbia's budget fron 1996 to 2000 - finance minister
BELGRADE - Over one billion German marks were embezzled from Serbia's budget between 1996 and 2000, Serbian Minister of Finance Bozidar Djelic said Monday.
Djelic told a session of the Serbian parliament committee for finance that budget inspectors have determined that most of the funds embezzled under the former regime had gone to the Socialist Party of Serbia or to private individuals.
