Social programs are blocking tender sales, Vlahovic
BELGRADE - "Extensive social programs, presented by the trade unions, are blocking the tender sales and lowering the price of capital and this is why we will demand that they are reduced," Serbian Economy and Privatization Minister Aleksandar Vlahovic said on Friday.
Speaking before the members of the Serbian Business Club Privrednik (Economist), Vlahovic explained that almost 99 percent of the companies have a surplus of
labor force, but that the social programs are too extensive, forcing potential buyers to either give up the idea of buying or to drastically reduce the price of the capital, which in turn causes negative public comments that companies are being sold for a single dollar, as if they have declared
bankruptcy.
