Clamp down on smuggling as part of fight against mafia, Djelic
BELGRADE - Serbian Finance and Economy Minister Bozidar Djelic assessed on Saturday that the clamp down on the smuggling of excise commodities will help the fight against the mafia in our country, by making it lose an important source of money it used for buying politicians, the media and judges.
At a meeting of the commission for suppressing the smuggling of excise commodities with representatives of the Interior Ministry, the Yugoslav Customs Administration, financial auditors and market inspectors, Djelic pointed to the negative consequences of the smuggling of excise commodities for the country's public finances and for legal businesses.
