Media Blackout Starts At Midnight
Belgrade - Media blackout at presidential elections is to begin at midnight (CET) 29 September.
The law on elections lists the activities banned 48 hours before the day of elections and on the day of elections, until the polling stations are closed: electoral propaganda through media, public meetings and publishing of estimates of results. It is also banned to post any propaganda material at polling stations and within 50 meters from them.
11 candidates will run at fourth presidential elections in Serbia. The current president of Serbia Milan Milutinovic was elected at regular elections on 7 December 1997. He took the seat on 5 January 1998.
