US will shortly unblock 85 million dollars belonging to Yugoslav Central Bank
BELGRADE - Over the next few days the US administration is expected to unblock the assets of the National Bank of the former Yugoslavia, amounting to 85 million dollars, and certain
European countries the sum of 101 million dollars in cash and gold, thus increasing the foreign exchange reserves of the Yugoslav Central Bank by 186 million dollars, Governer Mladjan Dinkic said on Wednesday.
"I believe only days are in question," Dinkic told a press conference underscoring that owing to the efforts of Yugoslav Foreign Minister Goran Svilanovic, Federal Vice Premier Miroljub Labus and his own (Dinkic's) activities, the US administration should make a positive decision about the unblockade of the assets in the next couple of days.
