Serbia cannot pay off Kosovo's debts, Djelic
BELGRADE - On Sept 15 Serbia should start servicing its new debt to the European Investment Bank, World Bank and the International
Monetary Fund by paying off the first 60-million-euro installment which includes the debt of Kosovo, which Serbia cannot pay, Serbian
Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic said on Tuesday.
Djelic told the press that he would write to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and UNMIK chief Michael Steiner requesting that Serbia is released from paying off Kosovo's debts to foreign investors since the Serbian tax administration is not collecting taxes in the province.
