State to sell 11 banks with its majority ownership
BELGRADE - The state of Serbia has become the majority owner of 11 home banks on the basis of the undertaken obligations toward the Paris and London clubs of creditors and holders of hard currency savings accounts opened in the former Yugoslav federation, and the stocks of these banks will be offered to home and foreign private investors at an auction in late February 2003, at the latest, Yugoslav National Bank (NBJ) Governor Mladjan Dinkic said on Thursday.
The state has become the majority owner of the following banks: Kontinental banka, Jubanka, Privredna banka Pancevo, Vojvodjanska banka, Kredi banka Kragujevac, Panonska banka, Srpska regionalna banka of Belgrade, Niska banka, Novosadska banka, Borska banka, and Pirotska banka, Dinkic told a press conference.
