Yugoslavia 'a step closer' to Council of Europe
Goran Pitic , Serbian Minister for International Economic Relations, expects Yugoslavia to submit their candidacy for membership in the European Union by the end of 2004. "Yugoslavia's membership in the Council of Europe would be one of the test points. After that, a Doors' Conference is planned, to be followed by signing up of the Agreement on stabilization and association with the European Union by the middle of the next year," Pitic said for BETA news agency.
