Dangerous cargo from Kragujevac
KRAGUJEVAC – A train with dangerous waste from the Zastava car factory left Kragujevac for Belgrade this afternoon.
The environmentally dangerous waste was collected from the factory’s paint shop after it was bombed by NATO in 1999.
The cleanup has been supervised by Zastava experts and international monitors.
Deputy Environment Minister Mihajlo Gavric told Radio B92 this afternoon that the material has been well secured and is not dangerous.
“When it comes to the safety of our citizens everything’s under control and there’s no threat whatsoever,” said Gavric.
