Former Deputy Director Of British NatWest Bank - Lord Hurd About Telekom Srbija
London ‘Observer’ writes that Italian prosecutors investigate accusations about alleged bribery and swindles during Telekom Srbija privatization and they want to talk to former Head of British diplomacy Douglas Hurd, reports BBC in Serbian.
Lord Hurd was deputy director of a department of respectable British bank NatWest, that offered consulting services to Telekom Srbija during controversial privatization of 1997. The bank was hired to do that job after a brunch that Mr. Hurd had with the then Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic.
‘Although there are no indications Lord Hurd was personally involved in illegal activities, Italians wish to investigate the possibility that Telekom Italy company paid the shares to Telekom Srbija ended at bank accounts of Milosevic and his associates’, Observer concluded.
