Kostunica party slams government over pensions
BELGRADE – The Democratic Party of Serbia today lashed out at Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic and Deputy Federal Prime Minister Miroljub Labus over their failure to meet pension payments.
The party, which is led by Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica, noted that the Federal Constitutional Court ruled in July that amendments to pension and invalid insurance legislation was unconstitutional.
The changes in the law had led to reductions in pension payments for the first three months of the year.
The party in its statement demanded that Labus use his constitutional authority to ensure the Constitutional Court’s decision was implemented and pensioners recompensed for their lost income.
