Agreement on consolidation of Yugoslav debt to France signed
Belgrade, Paris - Yugoslavia's Ambassador to Paris Radomir Diklic said that on behalf of the Yugoslav government he signed an agreement on
consolidation of Yugoslav debt to France, which fulfills the November 2001 agreement signed with the Paris Club.
The agreement stipulates write-off of two thirds of Yugoslav debt to France,
totaling about $350 million, stated Yugoslav Embassy to France, the Beta news agency reported. 51 percent of debt will be
written off, whereas the remaining 15 percent will be written off as soon as the new agreement with IMF is signed.
By signing this agreement "new possibilities for more significant engagement of French firms in businesses in Yugoslavia are opened," it is said in a statement.
