Greece to grant 250 ml euro aid to Yugoslavia
BELGRADE - Yugoslavia will receive 250 million euros' worth of financial aid on the grounds of an agreement on a development cooperation program for the period 2002-2006, within a Greek plan for the economic reconstruction of the Balkans, which will be signed by Greek and Yugoslav officials in Salonika on Thursday.
Serbia will receive 232.5 million euros and Montenegro 17.5 million. The bulk of the amount, close to 80 percent, is intended for financing projects proposed by the two republican governments and already approved by the Greek government, while the remaining 20 percent will be used by the Greek Ministry of National Economy and Finances for support to private investments in production in Yugoslavia.
