Minister on ecological standards in privatization process
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Ecology Andjelka Mihajlov has said the Serbian government opted for a privatization model which is ecology-friendly, which means companies which are
advertised for sale must show a report on their environment and the costs of abiding by the necessary ecological standards, so that prospective buyers will know what to expect.
"True, certain jobs will be abolished in the process of privatization, but the embracing of ecological standards will open new ones. We need factories for waters, for recycling, for waste waters, dumps...," Mihajlov said in a statement published in the Belgrade daily Vecernje novosti on Monday.
