Parliament scraps import duties for investors
BELGRADE – Foreign investors in Yugoslavia will be able to import plant and other equipment, new or used, without paying customs duties under a decision passed by the Federal Parliament yesterday.
The amendments to customs legislation will allow foreign companies to import any equipment except passenger vehicles and gaming machines under conditions prescribed in the law on foreign investments.
Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus said that the amendments to the customs law would finally allow implementation of the foreign investment legislation which was adopted six months ago.
He added that customs exemption on equipment imports would continue as long as a foreign company invested or reinvested its profits.
