Djindjic: Price of electricity goes up; price of bread stays the same
The price of electricity will soon go up, while the price of bread will stay the same, Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, without specifying how much the price would change.
Speaking on Radio-television Serbia, last night, Djindjic said the price of electricity would still remain the lowest in the region – 3 cents per kilowatt-hour. “The price of electricity will go up very soon, within a few days. Ministries for Energy and Finance will determine the increase, but the price per kilowatt-hour will remain the lowest in the region”, Djindjic said.
He said citizens of Serbia would, in the future, know exactly how much they have spent and what they are paying and added that the so called “engaged power” would not be included in the price of electricity. Citizens will know what they are paying for. All those who use electricity for heating will have the alternative to stop doing so and connect to central heating”, Djindjic said.
