Privatization in Serbia too slow, Pravdic
BELGRADE, - Privatization in Serbia is too slow and that is why the
Serbian government should create an institutional and legal framework,
develop the fiscal sector and market competitiveness and allow the buying
of shares of privatized firms with bonds issued to owners of frozen
foreign currency accounts, said on Friday a member of the shadow government
of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), Aleksandar Pravdic.
At a press conference, Pravdic, who in the shadow government is in charge
of the economy and privatization, warned that if we continue at this
pace, as in the past year, we cannot expect to complete privatization
by 2006, as planned.
