Between 100 and 300 million dollars blocked in the US
Acting Federal Finance Minister Veroljub Dugalic today said that assets of companies, worth between 100 and 300 million dollars, are blocked in the United States of America.
Dugalic told journalists in the Federal Parliament that these assets have been blocked in 1992, due to international sanctions, and that it is still unknown whether interest rates will be included in the total sum. The decision of president Bush, practically, extends the uncertainty on the use of these assets, by another year, Dugalic said, adding that our state had expected these assets to be unblocked become available soon. National Bank of Yugoslavia assets will have special treatment, as they are subject to succession, Dugalic said and added that talks with other successors are in progress.
