EU budget commissioner Schreyer: new tranche of macroeconomic assistance to FRY soon
The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia will soon receive a new tranche of macroeconomic assistance, EU budget Commissioner Michaele Schreyer said.
"The EU is determined to continue assisting Yugoslavia. I am taking to Brussels, a message that all conditions for a new tranche of assistance will soon be met, and I expect this would happen in the near future", Schreyer said after talks with Federal deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus.
Deputy Prime Minister Labus said the talks were "very open and useful", stressing there was talk of "open and difficult issues facing our country". "The key issue of interest for the EU and our country is the adoption of the Constitutional Charter and the speed with which we will be able to create institutions, which will hold further negotiations with the EU", Labus said.
