National Bank: Lowest retail prices growth rate in ten years
The National Bank of Yugoslavia said the retail prices growth
rate in Serbia in May was 0.4 percent, which is the lowest monthly
prices growth rate in the last ten years.
Total inflation in Serbia in the first five moths of this year
was 3.8 percent, which amounts to yearly inflation of around
9 percent the National Bank stated.
The National Bank expects this year’s trend of falling interest
rates would continue, especially as the Serbian government announced
reducing taxes on financial transactions, by around one third.
