Workers of tobacco factory in Vranje think that BAT is OK
Vranje, Nis - Employees of Vranje Tobacco Industry /DIV/ are
not surprised at the intention of BAT to buy cigarette factory
in Vranje. 'DIV think that BAT would be acceptable strategic
partner. Serbian Government is deciding about DIV privatization.
Over the years many world companies showed interest in our factory
because it is successful and profitable. We are of course interested
to have for a strategic partner some of the world largest and
best known manufacturers of tobacco', Mile Stevanovic, DIV General
director said.
Nis Tobacco Industry /DIN/ however, did not want to comment
the statement of BAT director in Belgrade Simon Willis. 'It
is not surprising that BAT is interested in DIN since our company
is large and valuable. Many other foreign tobacco companies
are also interest in DIN', spokeswoman of that factory said.
According to president of DIN management board Japanese are
also interested in DIN.
