Telecom of Serbia - Italians are offering their part at half price
Rome, Belgrade - According to 'Blic' daily source in Rome, the
Government in Rome is so much dissatisfied with investment in
Serbian telecommunications that it considers that investment
as one of the worst in the last decade. That dissatisfaction
is so big that Italians are ready to sell their participation
in Telecom of Serbia to Greek partner at half price of those
paid in 1997. Such decision has been especially due to findings
of 'Commission 40' of Italian Government and criminal proceedings
against Tomazzo de Tomazzi and Giusepe Guardini that showed
the whole deal in quite another light of still unsolved affair
about sale of Serbian Telecom.
Unlike generally accepted opinion that the commission in this
transaction took Serbian negotiators and in the first place
Milan Beko, former minister for privatization, Berlusconi's
commission reported about quite different findings. Enormous
commission in total amount of 78 millions of German marks took
Italians and their negotiators.
