Montenegrin president welcomes IMF decision on convertibility of dinar
PODGORICA - Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic on Friday
welcomed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) May 15 decision
to declare the Yugoslav dinar convertible in current operations.
"I am very happy that the dinar, used as the means of payment
in Serbia, has received the first certificate on convertibility,"
Djukanovic said.
"We must now see whether this convertibility will be confirmed
in the actual life of the dinar on the international financial
market, since, if this does happen, it will be our great pleasure
to use the dinar, as any other world currency, in our payment
operations at home," Djukanovic said.
