Yugoslav Bank governor says eight billion German marks converted into euros
Belgrade, 16 May: About 7.9 billion German marks have been converted
into euros, Yugoslav National Bank Governor Mladjan Dinkic said
on Thursday [16 May].
Dinkic recalled that 31 May is the deadline for converting the
currencies of the 12 European Union countries into the euro
at a 0.9 per cent commission.
Speaking at a press conference, Dinkic set out that after May
31 the Accounting and Payments Bureau would include a nine per
cent conversion commission, while commercial banks would be
allowed even bigger commissions.
