EBRD president praises Yugoslavia's speedy development
BELGRADE - In a little more than a year, Yugoslavia achieved exceptionally big progress in comparison with what other regional countries did in the past ten years, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Jean Lumiere told the BBC of London.
Progress is being made very quickly under difficult circumstances. It's clear that the Yugoslav leadership is acting very wisely and very efficiently. A year ago, we decided to lay the stress on financing the real economy and Yugoslavia clearly told us what it wanted. We provided them with this and they are implementing plans very well, Lumiere said, answering to the question regarding the prospects of Yugoslavia's development on the occasion of the EBRD annual meeting in Bucharest on Sunday.
