IMF declares convertibility of dinar for current payments
BELGRADE - The Yugoslav national currency (dinar) has effectively become convertible for current payments with foreign countries starting May 15, the office of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) permanent representative to Yugoslavia has said.
In a letter to the IMF top management in Washington, Yugoslav National Bank Governor Mladjan Dinkic confirmed that the Yugoslav government has accepted the obligations stemming from the IMF Statute, the statement said.
