IMF to send first tranche of loan to Yugoslavia on Wednesday
BELGRADE - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said it has approved to Yugoslavia a new three-year stand-by arrangement amounting to about 829 million dollars aimed at supporting its economic programme and Yugoslavia will be able to withdraw the first 64-million-dollar tranche as soon as the new arrangement takes effect on Tuesday.
A statement sent to Tanjug from IMF headquarters in Washington said that at the IMF Board of Executive Directors, chairperson Anne Krueger had said that the IMF commended Yugoslav authorities for impressive results in stabilization and reform since late 2000.
