Yugoslav currency to be convertible by end of week - NBY Governor
BELGRADE - National Bank of Yugoslavia (NBY) Governor Mladjan Dinkic told Tanjug late on Monday that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would very soon inform all countries in the world that the dinar had become convertible.
Asked whether the NBY would initiate the procedure aimed at recognizing the external convertibility of the dinar after the approval of the latest IMF arrangement to Yugoslavia, Dinkic said he expected that the IMF would do so "since all preconditions have been met."
