Djindjic claims support from Berlusconi for EU bid
ROME, Wednesday – Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is backing Yugoslavia’s bid for faster integration into the EU, Zoran Djindjic said today.
Speaking after meeting Berlusconi in Rome, the Serbian prime minister said that he had also won support for a plan to step up Italian investment in Serbia’s economy.
He said Berlusconi had proposed an Italian media campaign which would eliminate the image of Serbia as an unsafe country.
Djindjic also announced that Berlusconi is to visit Belgrade in June, together with a delegation of Italian business representatives.
The two prime ministers also discussed organized crime, said Djindjic.
