Ten million dollars for Serbian schools
The World Bank has approved a ten million dollar loan to support the Serbian Government’s education reforms.
The bank’s Belgrade representative said today that the project would speed up the restructuring of the education system and help children have a better education for the future.
Five million dollars is to go directly to teacher salaries with about six thousand dollars for each school earmarked for “stimulating creativity and innovation”.
Payments are expected to begin in June on a four-year schedule. (B92)
