Legislation paves way for convertible dinar
The Chamber of Citizens of the Federal Parliament today passed new legislation on foreign currency transactions.
According to National Bank Governor Mladjan Dinkic, the legislation paves the way for convertibility of the dinar.
“This will be the first time in the history of this country that the dinar will be a hard currency,” Dinkic told the Parliament, adding that the law liberalized the regime of transferring funds to foreign countries.
It does not, however, allow the transfer of funds abroad for the purchase of real estate.
