Serbia minister on fiscal independence of local self-governance
BELGRADE - The law on Serbia's budgetary system will enable local self-governance to restore control over financing from the republican budget and it will in future be able to take loans at international institutions, under the control of the state, Serbian Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic said on Thursday.
Opening a one-day conference on the law on the budgetary system in Belgrade, Djelic said that local self-governance in Serbia had had a greater degree of autonomy in the field of finance for the past 15 months than in the previous period.
