The company is fifty-one per cent owned by the Karic Group, the family company of Bogoljub Karic, the business magnate and former protégé of Slobodan Milosevic.
The remaining 49 per cent is owned by the state postal and telecommunications authority, PTT Serbia.
The Commercial Court has appointed an administrator to Mobtel after PTT Serbia petitioned for the protection of its interests in the company.
