Serbian bank forced into receivership over '586 ghost companies'

[Announcer] The Yugoslav National Bank today forced Centrobanka [bank] into receivership because, as [Yugoslav Bank] governor Mladjan Dinkic explained to journalists, various criminal activities were noticed in its work. According to Dinkic, Centrobanka set up around 586 ghost companies, chiefly in Novi Sad and Valjevo, through which it laundered money, that is, evaded taxes. Dinkic also said that the National Bank filed criminal charges against the management of the Centrobanka as well as that the director of RN Trade [as received; Serbo-Croat: Er En Trejd], a Novi Sad-based company, which was involved in the aforesaid criminal activities.
